【木の特ちょう―被爆した場所で生き続ける木】
まんまるい樹冠がかわいいクスノキは、「二葉の里歴史の散歩道」にあります。広島駅から徒歩１０分ほど。高台にある広島東照宮を見下ろす、小さな公園の中に立っています。被爆した時と同じ場所で立ち続けているクスノキです。幹は細いですが、丸い樹冠は青々と繁り、被爆の傷もありません。言われなければ被爆樹木とは気づかないでしょう。２０１４（平成２６）年に登録された被爆樹木です。2015年５月撮影

【被爆を伝える】
この辺りは当時、東練兵場でした。原爆投下後、多くの人が爆心地のほうから避難してきました。被爆した人々の救護所になったと伝えられています。

広島駅から徒歩〇分。広島駅から縮景園のイチョウやクロマツをスタートに、二葉の里地区にある明星院のイチョウ、鶴羽根神社のクロマツを通って、このクスノキへと散歩しながら、被爆樹めぐりを。

This tree survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, about 2040m from the hypocenter.　
At 8:15 a.m, August 6,1945,Hiroshima was burned by the blazing heat of the atomic bomb. It had been rumored that"nothing will grow in Hiroshima for 70 years", so when people saw new buds sprouting,they were encouraged and were able to have hope for their future. It is alive!
